Miesbach – After the city council decision in Miesbach and the meeting with residents on the Harzberg, the tree felling should now go quickly.
Because winter is fast approaching and the city sees "danger ahead", the damaged trees in the hall forest are to be removed quickly - as early as next week.
The preparations have started.
The city issued a press release about this.
"Due to the rapidly progressing damage to the peripheral beech trees in the hall forest, documented by expert reports, the city's Office for Food, Agriculture and Forestry urgently recommends felling a further 19 trees in the hall forest with regard to liability and traffic safety obligations," the statement said .
The city was "called to act immediately, according to the findings of the experts and the authorities, there is a risk of delay".
A felling permit is “not necessary for proper forest management”, the tree protection ordinance does not apply.
"The measures are formally and substantively legal after official confirmation by the Lower Nature Conservation Authority and the Office for Food, Agriculture and Forestry," explains the city.

Apart from the legal uncertainties that currently affect the legal validity of the landscape protection area ordinance Egartenlandschaft around Miesbach, tree felling, particularly in the forest, is not excluded, rather agricultural and forestry use remains unaffected by the prohibitions of the landscape protection area ordinance.
Due to the controls that have been carried out and the expert monitoring of the measures, it is not to be assumed that the prohibitions under species protection law will be implemented.
The measures are formally and substantively legal after official confirmation by the Lower Nature Conservation Authority and the Office for Food, Agriculture and Forestry.
The necessary preparatory measures will start this week, after which the felling will be carried out.”
