The technical workshops in the Syrian Telecommunications Company branch in Homs are continuing the network expansion projects to deliver telephone services and their continuity and improve their quality for all activities and citizens in the governorate.
The director of the Syrian Telecom Company’s branch in Homs, Eng. Kanaan Jouda, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that work is currently underway to expand the networks in the old neighborhoods of Akrama, Al-Nuzha, Al-Zahra’a, Ashira, Al-Bayada and Deir Baalbeh, in addition to starting soon to expand the networks of Taldo and Kafr Laha, pointing out that the company began completing solar energy projects several years ago in More than thirty villages with what is known as (onna optical), which are light stations that serve population centers and are considered modern divisions, but without building, and they are controlled remotely in activation and cancellation.
Juda revealed the existence of a central contract for the installation of 11 photovoltaic units powered by solar energy at the beginning of next year, with the aim of ensuring the continuity of the quality of telephone services for subscribers in the governorate, especially in the countryside, including the villages (Kafr Abd, Ezz El-Din, Al-Haza, Al-Rabwah 2, Al-Muzaina 1, Dahiyat Al-Assad, Fatim Al-Arnouk, Jabbourin, Ain Al-Agouz, Ain Al-Ghara and Badu). And others, pointing to the difficulty of feeding large telephone centers in the city with solar energy, as they require large areas for solar panels and equipment.
He said: The implementation and maintenance of the main and branch cables extension project in the city of Rastan has been completed, and 45 telephone boxes have been installed, with the aim of serving the northwestern region of the city. Replacing the damaged and oxidized Ibn Tammam telephone group with a new one, thus restoring telephone service to the subscribers of this group.
It is noteworthy that there are about 300,000 telephone lines currently in service out of the total capacity of about 475,000 lines, in addition to more than 150,000 internet portals invested in the branch of the Syrian Telecom Company in Homs.
