"I was not in a position, as I am not, to work for an unconstitutional government outside the law, nor to serve a dictator," says Harold Forsyth, Peru's former permanent representative to the Organization of American States (OAS).
The former ambassador resigned from his position after learning that Castillo unconstitutionally dissolved Congress to install an emergency government.
Hours later, the Peruvian Congress approved the presidential vacancy.
Forsyth assured that he would be willing to return to his position under the mandate of the new president of Peru, Dina Boluarte.
