This is a first for TikTok.
The Chinese video application is being sued on American soil through the State of Indiana.
The latter filed two complaints against the service for misleading consumers.
They are primarily intended to force TikTok to rewrite its content and data protection policies to make them more transparent.

Indiana does not mince words against TikTok, which has been called by turns a
“wolf in sheep's clothing”
and a
“Chinese Trojan horse unleashed on unsuspecting American consumers”
.
The Northern State criticizes the application for minimizing the weight of videos containing
"alcohol, drugs, vulgarity, sexual allusions, nudity"
that minors can view.
TikTok 's

rating on app stores would thus mislead parents.
