Iran has renewed its rejection of Western interference in its internal affairs, stressing that it will not tolerate those who threaten its public security.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said in a tweet on Twitter today: "Iran has exercised maximum restraint with rioters at home, unlike Western countries that brutally suppress protesters among their citizens."
Kanaani pointed out that his country has used appropriate and legal methods to combat riots, and will not tolerate those who threaten Iranian public security and those who carry out armed attacks and violate the law.
