Makhachkala-Sana
An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale struck near the city of Makhachkala in the Republic of Dagestan.
The agency, Novosti, quoted a statement from the Earthquake Monitoring Center for Europe and the Mediterranean, saying that the epicenter of the tremor was at a depth of 40 kilometers, 94 kilometers from the city of Makhachkala.
The statement indicated that there is no current information about damage or injuries as a result of the tremor.
