Wolfratshausen – The refurbishment of the listed building on Untermarkt 10 cost around 4.5 million euros – 1.7 million euros of which is covered by the government of Upper Bavaria.

After the inauguration of the tourist information, the new museum will be opened on February 10th.

"A lot of money has been spent, but it's worth it to us," stated Mayor Klaus Heilinglechner.

The new tourist information and the adjoining, almost completed museum are to become a meeting place for day trippers and locals.

"By bundling several offers in one place, we attract passers-by and revitalize the city center," hopes the head of the business location promotion department, Stefan Werner.

So far there has already been some positive feedback - Wolfratshauser will love the tourist information

In addition to the tourist information with personal advice, digital information terminals and souvenir shop, the Velvet coffee house invites you to linger.

"The location of our coffee house in the middle of the city and the overwhelmingly positive reactions during the renovation phase make me very optimistic that the people of Wolfratshausen will love my offer," said owner Julia Heilig-Krauledat enthusiastically.

In the back building, the Wallner-Bockhorni cabinet is a multifunctional venue for events, special exhibitions and weddings.

The Wolfratshausen Museum will reopen on February 10, 2023 on almost 400 square meters in a total of nine rooms on the first floor.

"We have equipment that can be used flexibly," explained museum director Annekatrin Schulz.

Outside the opening times, information terminals are available for guests

In addition to information about the area, the tourist information also sells tickets for all city events.

Outside the opening times, the information terminals in front of the entrance door provide information about the region.

"Tourism has found a home," summarized Gisela Gleißl.

The municipal tourism manager proudly showed the guests the new tourist brochure "Wolfratshausen - mighty in the river" and a wide range of souvenirs.

It ranges from plush wolves to high-proof Wolfratshauser raft spirit to coffee cups with the logo from the TV series "Hubert without Staller".

After Mayor Klaus Heilinglechner had cut the red opening ribbon, he thanked everyone involved in the project.

This includes StäWo Dienstleistungs-GmbH, which renovated the building from April 2020 to October 2022.

The location promotion department has taken over the representation of the client.

A total of six different sponsors were acquired and involved.

The renovation contributes to the upgrading of the inner city

"This is a key property for upgrading the inner city," said Heilinglechner happily.

He referred to the important economic factor of tourism, which flushes over 20 million euros into local companies every year.

Wolfratshausen currently has around 40,000 overnight stays and 700,000 day visitors a year.
