On the nationwide warning day, the sirens also wailed in Hamburg.
"Everything worked," said Interior Authority spokesman Daniel Schaefer on Thursday.
All 123 sirens in the city area would have triggered a test alarm.
According to the observation of the civil protection department, the test warnings were also distributed via digital billboards and the cell broadcast process on mobile phones.
Hamburg – However, the Federal Office for Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (BBK) is solely responsible for these distribution channels.
The all-clear was given at 11:45 a.m.
Hamburg's 123 sirens are mainly in the port area, which stretches from Altona, through Mitte and Harburg to Bergedorf.
A further 50 sirens are to be installed over the next few years outside of the areas at risk of storm surges.
In the future, they should help to warn the population of inland floods, heavy rain or other dangers.
The city had already tested its own warning devices at the beginning of the storm surge season on September 8th.
In addition to sirens, digital displays and warning apps, this also includes gun turrets and loudspeaker trucks.
