The former president of Guatemala Otto Pérez Molina (2012-2015) and the former vice president Roxana Baldetti were found guilty this Wednesday of the crimes of illicit association and special cases of customs fraud.
The decision was announced during a hearing held in Guatemala City.
Pérez Molina and Baldetti were acquitted for the crime of illicit enrichment.

Both have pleaded not guilty to the accusations during the trial against them.
During a break in the hearing, the former president of Guatemala told CNN that he is frustrated and disappointed by this conviction.
He added that he will file an appeal with his legal team to "clear" his name.
