Double energy flat rate for pensioners and students with a mini job - who gets the money?
The energy flat rate from the 2nd relief package was initially only intended to provide financial support for all employed persons in Germany in view of the exploding energy costs - pensioners and students without a mini job or another employment relationship were initially excluded from the payment of the 300 euros.
That is why the federal government created a balance with the third relief package and created an additional energy flat rate for pensioners and students.
People affected by this, who were also employees with employment subject to social security contributions or a mini job this year, can now be doubly happy.

According to the daily newspaper, this was confirmed by experts from the Ministry of Finance during a technical discussion.
Accordingly, the administrative costs incurred to identify and revise double payments would exceed the current additional expenditure.
The website of the Federal Ministry of Social Affairs also states: "The payments are not mutually exclusive." According to

, pensioners could therefore "be eligible for both groups of people".
Incidentally, several campaigns are currently calling for donations of the energy flat rate – pensioners also benefit.

Who is entitled to the 300 euro energy flat rate – and when will the second energy flat rate for pensioners and students come out?
The energy flat rate for pensioners is to be paid out once through the pension fund by mid-December.
Although it is subject to income tax, it is not subject to social security contributions.
Pensioners with a mini-job will have a gross of 600 euros more in their accounts by the end of 2022.
