A fall from a building involving police operations occurred in Yuen Long.
At about 10:36 p.m. yesterday (8th), three men suddenly fell from the Hong Yun Building, No. 21-35, On Ning Road, Yuen Long, and fell into the courtyard and were trapped.
The firefighters arrived after receiving the report and needed to climb the stairs from the building to break the transom to save people.
In the end, it took more than an hour for the three men to climb out of the rotten window and return to a safe place with the assistance of firefighters.
Two of them suffered minor injuries and were sent to Pok Oi Hospital by ambulance; the remaining one man was not injured.
According to sources, the incident involved a gambling operation by the police. During the suspected escape, someone fell from a low-rise unit at the above address.
According to the police, the special duty team of the Yuen Long Police District launched operations codenamed "LEVINGTON", "CROWBEAK" and "WINDSHIELD" based on reports and investigations. A residential unit on On Ning Road, Yuen Long was searched, suspected illegal baccarat gambling stalls were smashed, and 2 baccarat tables, 36 decks of poker, 18 stools and about 30,000 yuan in gambling money were seized.
During the operation, the police arrested 11 people, including a 63-year-old man who was suspected of "operating a gambling establishment"; 7 men and 3 women (aged 24 to 61) were arrested for "gambling in a gambling establishment".
Everyone is being detained for investigation; during the operation, 3 of the men (50 to 60 years old) were suspected of jumping from the address unit to the courtyard of the building in an attempt to escape, but were trapped in the courtyard of the building.
The fire rescued 3 people, 2 of whom suffered head and foot injuries respectively, and were sent to Pok Oi Hospital for treatment while conscious.
Two of the men who fell from the building suffered minor injuries and needed to be sent to the hospital for treatment.
