Take out your 2023 diaries. We now know the dates for the start of the 2023 school year: this will take place on September 4, 2023, according to a decree published Thursday in the Official Journal setting the school calendar for the next three years.
Teachers will return to school a few days before their students, on Friday September 1.
Common to all zones,
the All Saints holidays
will take place from Saturday October 21 to Monday November 6, 2023, and the
Christmas holidays
from Saturday December 23, 2023 to Monday January 8, 2024.
The winter holidays
will take place from Saturday February 17, 2024 to Monday March 4, 2024 for zone A, from Saturday February 24 to Monday March 11 for zone B, and from Saturday February 10 to Monday February 26 for zone C.
Spring break
will take place from Saturday April 13 to Monday April 29, 2024 for zone A, from Saturday April 20 to Monday May 6 for zone B, and from Saturday April 6 to April 22 for zone C.
Summer vacation will begin on Saturday July 6, 2024.
As a reminder, Zone A corresponds to the academies of Besançon, Bordeaux, Clermont-Ferrand, Dijon, Grenoble, Limoges, Lyon and Poitiers.
Zone B at the academies of Aix-Marseille, Amiens, Lille, Nancy-Metz, Nantes, Nice, Normandy, Orléans-Tours, Reims, Rennes and Strasbourg.
Finally, zone C corresponds to the academies of Créteil, Montpellier, Paris, Toulouse and Versailles.
The dates for 2024 and 2025
For the year 2024-2025, the start of the school year for pupils is set for Monday, September 2, 2024, and the summer holidays for Saturday, July 5, 2025. The 2025-2026 school year will begin for pupils on Monday, September 1, 2025, and the summer holidays will start on Saturday July 4, 2026.
