Stabbed clan member: Suspected perpetrator caught

Around seven months after the fatal knife attack on a 25-year-old man from the Berlin milieu of Arab clans, the police arrested a 21-year-old man as the suspected perpetrator.
The young man returned to Germany on Wednesday and was arrested at the airport, the public prosecutor said on Thursday.
Berlin - He had expected the arrest, his return had been announced by his lawyer, said a spokesman for the public prosecutor's office.
It was not initially known from which country he returned.
The suspect has been wanted since May 30th.
On April 30, the 25-year-old victim was stabbed to death during a fight and a fight between two groups at the "Neuköllner Maientage" fair in Hasenheide Park.
The dead man was buried in a cemetery in Berlin-Schoeneberg, accompanied by a large police force.
Around 1,000 men attended, including members and heads of well-known Arab clans.
The older brother of the dead man who was shot, Nidal R., was buried in the same cemetery in the presence of around 2,000 men from the clan scene from all over Germany.
Nidal R. was shot dead in autumn 2018 in front of his family on Tempelhofer Feld.
He was known to police as a repeat offender with ties to clans of Arab origin.
So far, the police have not been able to arrest any perpetrators.
