The Development Bureau announced today (8th) that the Development (Town Planning, Land and Works) (Miscellaneous Amendments) Bill 2022 will be gazetted on Friday (9th). Various measures in the draft will play a key role in accelerating land supply , the time for general projects to change from "raw land" to "studied land" for building houses will be reduced from at least six years to four years, and large-scale projects such as new development areas will be greatly reduced from 13 years to seven years.

The Development Bureau pointed out that the draft covers urban planning, land resumption, reclamation, road and railway engineering and other statutory amendments related to development, so as to compress the development timetable and speed up land creation to respond to the society's ardent demand for land and housing.
