A green that pales somewhat this year.
In the Var, the drought condemned more than half of the olive harvest and up to 80% of the production in places.
This is the case in Cuers, on the Vallon de l'Allamande estate, where 2,000 olive trees grow on the foothills.
“This year, we picked everything up in fifty hours, whereas last year it took us two and a half months,” says olive grower Arnaud Truphème disappointed.
