The selectors at the state gates: this is how Maoz and Smotrich intend to change the demography in Israel - voila! news

2022-12-08T15:52:59.253Z

Smotrich's initiative to drop the "grandchild section" and placing Maoz in charge of the Netiv organization is not really a struggle for Jewish identity - in any case Law of Return immigrants can have children in Israel - but an attempt to lower the motivation to immigrate to Israel, which is the only demographic counter to the growing sectors they represent

Smotrich promises: "A good government will be established in the coming days" (Knesset Channel)

The public attention in the case of the chairman of the Noam movement, MK Avi Maoz, is understandably directed mainly towards his alarming takeover of the contents that our children will learn.

For those who haven't done their homework yet, the hatred of the members of his movement is not only directed towards women, LGBT people and Arabs. About two years ago, Yigal Canaan, number three in the Noam party, attacked the "Wings of Karambo" movement, the inspiring and proud youth movement that grew up here, which leads by children with and without special needs. Canaan posted a particularly sickening post following the decision to honor the founder of the movement, Adi Altshuler, by lighting a torch. Under the title: "Karambo's telephones" he wrote, among other words of his disgust, the following: "This connects with The Christian position of connection to the weak, which has been transformed into a Christian post-modern position that sanctifies the disabled, the weak... In the camps (of the wings of Krambo, BK) the girls are the flag bearers. Empathy, humanity, warmth are expressed, while the boys feel weak and a little unnecessary in their masculine qualities.

They may be somewhat expressed as strong beasts of burden lifting the disabled and wheelchairs... Of course this connects with feminism, seeing sexuality on the continuum, seeing men as a weak production and masculinity is unnecessary along with the attempt to empower women.

This is of course connected with the suppression of the IDF as a fighting army and the strengthening of the role of women there... where there are diapers they don't wave a flag... in two ceremonies the flag is the weak, the retarded, the feminine, the abnormal, the poor, the stranger, the pervert, the victim, the compassion, the charity Obama and Soros sign it."

This text is not an incomprehensible spewing of a pen, but an alarmingly coherent text, an ideological product of the Noam party, headed by the first MK to sign a coalition agreement with the Likud. It's hard to believe, but this is the reality here in Israel 2022. True, the thought that this man will be responsible even About one of the most terrifying study programs, but what is being missed in the public discourse is the greater threat - Avi Maoz is going to be the selector, literally, at the entrance to Israel; at its most active gate, the gate of those coming from Eastern Europe.

The most fruitful immigration to Israel is from Eastern Europe;

Just to illustrate, since the beginning of the year, about 50,000 immigrants from Eastern Europe have immigrated to Israel, compared to about 3,000 from the West and about 3,000 from North America.

This figure probably does not please Netanyahu's coalition partners.

Therefore, Bezalel Smotrich wants to cancel the grandson clause in the Law of Return, and therefore Avi Maoz asked and was accepted to be in charge of the "Nativ" organization.

The Netiv organization is the one in charge of checking the applicants to immigrate to Israel - do they meet the standards of the Law of Return.

The Law of Return states that every Jew has the right to immigrate to Israel, and that the right is also granted to "the child and grandchild of a Jew, the spouse of a Jew, and the spouse of a child and grandchild of a Jew."

The cancellation of the grandchild clause may dramatically lower the figures for immigration to Israel.

Smotrich and Mouz tell us that they care about the "Jewish identity" of the country, but what is really behind these words?

Will be the selector at the entrance to Israel.

First, it is important to clarify, the Law of Return by its definition immigrates to Israel people who are not Jews according to the Halacha.

According to Halacha, a Jew is only one whose mother is Jewish, or who has been converted according to Halacha.

The Law of Return, as mentioned, also allows spouses, children and grandchildren of Jews to immigrate to Israel.

For example, imagine the following situation: a woman, whose father is Jewish and whose mother is not Jewish, wants to immigrate to Israel with her daughter.

If it were up to Smotrich, the woman would be able to immigrate, but her daughter would not be able to immigrate since her mother is not Jewish (because she is the daughter of a gentile mother), and as the granddaughter of a Jew, according to Smotrich's method, she would no longer be entitled to the Law of Return.

Now you will understand how stupid and evil it is at the same time: imagine this time that the same woman is single without children.

As mentioned, she can immigrate to Israel, even though she is not Jewish;

She does immigrate to Israel and brings children here, in Israel.

Her children will receive citizenship anyway, by virtue of the citizenship law, even though they are not Jewish.

If so, what is the "deep" meaning of canceling the grandson clause?

After all, even if it is canceled, non-Jewish dynasties will still be able to develop here;

It is important to clarify, Judaism by virtue of the Law of Return is not good for marriage in any case, and by contrast not for burial either.

The rabbinate anyway makes a halachic Judaism inquiry for all these immigrants when they ask her to register for marriage.

Those who fail to prove their Jewishness, or do not try to prove their Judaism, or convert, or simply marry in Cyprus, in another destination, or have children without marrying at all;

Those who do this, and they are many, are not under the supervision of the rabbinate anyway.

So what exactly will a "grandson clause" help here?

The answer is simple - contrary to the Zionist ethos we grew up with, Smotrich and Mouz seek to lower the motivation of immigrating to Israel.

Recently, an article was published in HaShiloh that is widely quoted by those who support the initiative to abolish the grandson clause.

The article sought to debunk an ancient myth according to which the grandson clause in the Law of Return was enacted as a mirror to the Nuremberg Laws which stated that the Nazi decrees would also apply to grandchildren of Jews.

The factual conclusion in the article is convincing, but it seems unimportant to me.

Yes Nuremberg or no Nuremberg, can anyone argue with the fact that the Law of Return and in fact the entire Zionist project was created as a result of the persecution of anyone identified as Jewish?

Is there an argument that the Nazis were not interested in whether the people they sought to exterminate were the sons of a Jewish mother or a Jewish father?

Is there a debate that even today there is hatred of Jews in the world, in Eastern Europe in particular?

What then of this ridiculous quibbling over Nuremberg?

70 years this law exists;

What is the pressure now?

We said, in any case, there are hundreds of thousands of people living in Israel today entitled to the Law of Return who, according to Halacha, are not Jews;

And yet, the vast majority of these people arrived in Israel with some Jewish background from their countries, some with a significant background,

Some with a minor background.

The vast majority of them develop a Jewish-Israeli identity here in Israel;

Many of them seek to convert, whether through the conversion of the rabbinate, whether through the conversion of the IDF, or through private conversions. So where exactly does the pressure to reject them come from? To humiliate them?

Even if the clause does not pass, mainly due to Netanyahu's fear of the Jews of the United States, placing Maoz in charge of the Nativ organization may do the job.

Ma'oz has already announced that he intends to minimize the holes in the visa filter, so that the tests of Judaism at "Nativ" will be much more strict.

Maoz will learn from his best teachers - from the Jewish investigators in the Chief Rabbinate who examine those who wish to marry according to the religion of Moses and Israel.

For years, the rabbis have developed excruciating bureaucratic methods that drive those who seek marriage to despair, often to renounce their Judaism, and to marry abroad, or to have children without marriage. This is the direction of Ma'oz - to bring visa applicants to despair, to give up on immigrating to Israel. This is the new Zionist ethos of Israel - Athos Maoz-Smotrich. Get used to it.

What interests them is the demographics.

In recent days, the voices of right-wing politicians have been heard referring to Raviv Drucker's investigations in News 13, which pointed out deficiencies in the "Nativ" organization and many imposters who come to Israel only to receive the absorption basket and leave immediately afterwards.

I don't make light of this phenomenon and it is clear that in view of these investigations Israel must perfect its control mechanisms mainly in the absorption basket grants.

The point is that Maoz and Smotrich are less interested in the money that the state gives or not to immigrants to Israel;

What interests them is the demographics.

Smotrich and Mouz want to lower the motivation of the CIS residents to immigrate to Israel, since most of them are secular, not religious, and provide a counter, even if a small one, to the rate of multiplication in the ultra-Orthodox and ultra-Orthodox sectors.

Smotrich and Mouz will of course not admit it, but in light of the above analysis, there really is no other real reason.

This is also the explanation for the initiative of the other partners in the coalition - the ultra-Orthodox parties and "Otzma Yehudit" - to repeal in legislation the rulings that recognized the Reform converts in Israel as giving effect to the Law of Return.

The absurdity is that the ruling regarding the Reformers was based on a previous ruling that recognized private Haredi conversions.

On the basis of these two rulings, a ruling was also given that approves the religious-national conversions - "proper conversion" - of the "Etim" association headed by Rabbi Shaul Farber.

As soon as the courts allowed private conversions other than through the rabbinate, the legislator apparently will not be able to do anything - either he will cancel all private conversions, including the ultra-Orthodox, or not.

On second thought, to write these days: "The legislator will not be able to", is a bit disconnected from reality.

For a moment I forgot that soon the sovereign will be able to do everything (governance and that...).

Leave aside the passage of empowerment, the appointment of political judges, etc., if at the gate of the State of Israel is stationed a man who only yesterday called in the Knesset to the religious-liberal public: "Methionim", anything is possible;

If a person who is a member of his party calls the "Wings of Krambo" campers: "beasts of burden", because they are carrying children with disabilities on their backs, anything can happen here.

The holders of this ideology are the people who will stand at the gates of Israel and determine who will enter and who will not, who has sufficient "Jewish identity" for their liking, and who does not;

These people are the first to sign a coalition agreement with the prime minister-designate.
