According to research by our editors, there have been two applications so far.
Both the National Theater and the Hofbräuhaus have officially applied for personal use.
Immobilien Bayern is responsible for subletting the rooms on the Platzl, which belong to the Free State.
Managing Director Gerhard Reichel says: "A decision on subsequent use has not yet been made.
However, a timely decision on further use is sought.”
Because on January 1, 2023 there will definitely be a new tenant.
The hottest applicant is currently the Hofbräuhaus, which confirmed its interest to tz four weeks ago.
A week ago, the application followed, in which Hofbräuhaus director Michael Möller raved about the Südtiroler Stuben: "The premises can be described as prime location with regard to gastronomic use on the now heavily frequented square." Several partners of the Breweries have already expressed “great interest”.

The State Opera also has great opportunities - it is the office that administers property and has to take care of structural matters anyway.
Spokeswoman Annette Baumann confirms the application: "Against the background of the lack of space in the National Theater, in the rehearsal building on Marstallplatz, in the ballet building on Platzl and also in the Bavarian State Theater, the Bavarian State Opera has, as a precaution, registered its own needs and is currently examining whether subsequent use (for offices, rehearsal rooms) is possible through the State Theater.” In addition to the Südtiroler Stuben, the theater also wants to take over the Munich Kindl Stuben - and would thus have 500 square meters of extra space.
It is also possible that there is a lease on January 1st, but the rooms will remain empty for the time being due to renovations.
After his sentence in prison (three years and two months), Alfons Schuhbeck is still waiting for the written justification of the sentence – the district court has time until Thursday and confirmed yesterday: Damage compensation by Schuhbeck is “still not known”.
By the way: The cooking school of the star chef is also closing.
