Wolfgang Ramadan from the agency "BrotZeit&Spiele" from Icking takes over the "basic cultural supply" in the Grafinger Stadthalle.

It starts in 2023.

Grafing

– Every new beginning offers new opportunities.

This should also apply to the cultural offerings in the town of Grafing.

The departure of the artistic director of the Stadthalle, Sebastian Schlagenhaufer, is generally perceived as a turning point in the scene.

What's next?

Schlagenhaufer's position will be re-advertised, Mayor Christian Bauer (CSU) reported at a press conference in the Grafinger start-up center.

But the place gets a new cut.

The future artistic director should also take care of the many cabaret stages that Grafing has hidden.

In the future, however, Wolfgang Ramadan from the agency “BrotZeit&Spiele” from Icking will provide “basic cultural services” in the Stadthalle.

Ramadan had the opportunity to introduce himself to the public at the Grafinger Gründerzentrum on Thursday, December 8th and brought a self-made guitar with him, on which he sang his message to a rock classic: "Art and culture make life worth living."

Ramadan: "I didn't want to drive a taxi, so I became an organizer."

Like Schlagenhaufer, Ramadan sometimes puts himself in the spotlight as an artist.

He has been working "as a poet and impresario" since 1986.

One cannot live off poetry.

"I didn't want to drive a taxi, so I became an organizer." His first major task was organizing the Munich Theater Festival.

He was head of the cultural department in Garching, as well as in Unterföhring, and in addition to his numerous artistic activities of his own, the 62-year-old has set up an agency that already uses other halls in the area.

This agency has now entered into a cooperation with the city of Grafing.

"It is important to me that we find our audience again after the crisis." Because Corona is not over yet.

The booking figures of his agency would prove that.

Before Corona, 30,000 event tickets were sold per year, but currently only 10,000. That cannot be done without subsidies.

In Grafing it looks like this: "I am a service provider and our service is remunerated." It was agreed not to disclose details.

A subscription sale has already been set up in a hurry.

"It was pressing because we wanted to start," Bauer explained the situation after the successful renovation of the town hall.

The sale of subscriptions runs online through the agency BrotZeit&Spiele until December 30, 2022.

Wolfgang Krebs and Django Asül are the first

The artists Wolfgang Krebs, Evelyn Huber (harp - solo), Luis from South Tyrol, Django Asül and Chris Boettcher will start.

In addition to these five performances, there will be six mixed shows.

The single ticket costs 32 euros, the subscription ticket 25 euros.

"A performance is always free with a subscription," promises Ramadan, whose real name is Wolfgang Ferdinand Windorfer.

He has fixed seat reservations ("your name is on it"), the tickets are transferable and the subscribers from other venues are surprisingly loyal and mobile: "I already know that people from Bad Aibling and Siegertsbrunn will come to Grafing. According to Ramadan, his core clientele are “the silverbacks”, i.e. older people.

However, he has made the experience that the audience is getting younger

because the tickets end up as a gift for the grandchildren if someone cannot attend an event themselves due to lack of time.

The ticket donation, the tickets that have become free are deposited at the box office, has proven very useful.

His concept of "basic cultural provision" is the result of scientific research and many years of experience.

His goal is to encourage the audience to go to the theater “once a month”, in this case to the town hall.

Ramadan can also organize performances by the English cult band Wishbone Ash or by Creedence Clearwater Revival.

"It works for 500 or more visitors," he was assured, reports the mayor.

Bauer did not only give advance applause for this: "With the help of Sebastian Schlagenhaufer, we managed to come up with a more than good solution."
