That went faster than expected: the Mittenheimer Bridge in Oberschleißheim should be completely renovated by the end of the year.
Oberschleißheim – By the end of the year at the latest, traffic should be rolling over the Mittenheim Bridge again – possibly even before Christmas.
As Mayor Markus Böck (CSU) announced at the town meeting, the work is progressing unusually quickly.
If the bridge were actually completed this year, the work would have been completed a full nine months earlier than planned.
The bridge, which has been renewed since April 2021, is part of the important north-south connection in Oberschleißheim.
The lane is closed in both directions during the renovation work on the aging structure.
Only emergency services on duty are allowed to pass.
For the hardships suffered during the bridge closure, for annoying detours and their patience at the level crossing, the municipality wants to please the people of Oberschleißheim with a "small celebration" at the opening, as was heard.
Apparently, the work on the bridge was under a lucky star right from the start.
There were no major breakdowns. "It's going very, very well," Mayor Böck had already stated in early autumn last year: "We definitely want to use the flow!" will;
also earlier than planned.
