He was a real fighter: Denis Klockmann, who is suffering from cancer, has now lost this fight.

He died in hospital on Thursday.

Wolfrasthausen – The 27-year-old was diagnosed with cancer for the fifth time in his young life.

Klockmann had metastases in the lungs and heart.

Because his health had deteriorated rapidly in mid-November, he had to go to a Munich clinic.

The Wolfratshauser would have loved to have stayed at home.

Health deteriorated rapidly

But the 27-year-old was no longer allowed to exert himself.

As a result, he could no longer stay in his family's apartment in Wolfratshausen.

His wish: a move to a ground floor apartment.

But his health no longer allowed that.

Moving to the palliative care ward was necessary

Klockmann spent the last few weeks of his life on the palliative care ward in a Munich clinic.

Always at his side: his mother Pathima Klockmann, who was a great support to him.

The footballers of the Unterhaching game association made him very happy with a jersey signed by all members of the first team.

Enormous willingness to donate

The club became aware of Klockmann's fate through a report in our newspaper.

Friends of the terminally ill had started a call for donations so that Wolfratshauser's last wish could come true.

He wanted to spend the time he had left with his family without any worries.

And he wished that his mother would not be left with a mountain of debt after the funeral.

"Other than that, I'm perfectly happy," he said in an interview with our editors a good four weeks ago.

The difficult fate triggered a great deal of dismay among the population: To date, almost 30,000 euros have been received in the donation account, and the planned donation target has been exceeded almost three times.

On Thursday, December 8, Denis Klockmann fell asleep gently at 3:30 a.m.
