"Office error" in the case of a missing person: the police did not report a corpse for months

A 69-year-old from Markt Schwaben who has been missing since the summer is dead. Despite the body being found, the public call for missing persons persisted for months.
Update, Friday, December 9th:
The missing Roland S. from Markt Schwaben (Ebersberg district) is dead. As the police only now announced when asked by the editors, a body was found on October 4th from the Isar canal near Finsing ( Erding district) recovered.
The dead had been identified as the 69-year-old missing.
"Due to an office mistake, the search was subsequently revoked or deleted," said a spokesman for the responsible police headquarters in Oberbayern Nord in Ingolstadt.
This means that the unfortunately sad end of the search for missing persons is also public knowledge more than two months after the end of the police investigation.
The editors have therefore made Roland S. anonymous in this article.
Update, Monday, July 4, 4:15 p.m
.: The wife of the missing Roland S* found her husband’s bike in the Burgerfeld commercial area in Markt Schwaben.
As the Poing Police Inspectorate has now announced, the police, together with the volunteer fire departments in Aschheim and Garching/Hochbrück, started a search operation with sniffer dogs.
The emergency services searched together last Friday afternoon from 3 p.m. until well into the evening.
First, three Maintrailer dog handlers were on their way from Geltinger Straße in the direction of Schwabener Au to the airport terminal.
"Since all the dogs picked up a scent independently of one another, other dogs from the fire brigade were used, so that a total of 13 dog handlers were out and about with their search dogs in a certain area and a total fire brigade crew of 21 men was deployed," said the police.
Dog handler ends up in hospital while searching
A female volunteer with the dog was attacked by earth wasps and bitten so badly that she was taken to a hospital for inpatient treatment and the dog had to be treated by a veterinarian.
Unfortunately, the search was stopped in the evening without any results.
The search operation on Saturday afternoon, during which a police officer with a body detection dog searched the forest again, was unsuccessful.
According to the Poinger police, it is currently being checked whether another search operation with dogs will be started.
Market Schwabener missing
First report:
Markt Schwaben – The police are urgently asking the public for help in finding Roland S. (69) from Markt Schwaben.
As reported by the responsible Poinger inspection, the man has been missing since Monday, June 27th.
According to the investigators, the pensioner left his house at around 9:30 a.m. on his black and white bicycle.
He was last seen again about 15 minutes later on Geltinger Strasse near an organic market there.
However, without his bike.
Since then his trace has been lost.

Roland S. is 188 cm tall, has short gray hair and wears glasses, officials said.
He had a blue cloth bag with him next to the bike.
