Nine people were killed, two were injured and one is missing when a coal mine exploded in the province of Sumatra, western Indonesia today.
Arif Pratama, spokesman for the provincial search and rescue office, said in a telephone statement to Xinhua that the mine in Swahlunto town exploded this morning, killing nine people and seriously injuring two others.
He indicated that a search operation is currently underway for the missing person.
