Those classified to the semifinals

Croatia

proved that their 2018 runner-up was not a passing affair.

Luka Modric's team triumphed again on penalties, this time against the absolute favorite of the tournament: Brazil.

A goal from Neymar for Brazil and another from Petkovic for Croatia in extra time left the game tied.

In penalties, goalkeeper Livakovic (crucial in penalties against Japan) blocked Rodrygo's charge and Marquinhos missed his shot.

The Croats did not fail and are in the semifinals.
