On video: Storm before the inauguration: MK Odeh refused to take a picture with the flag (Knesset Channel)
The chairman of the Hadash-Ta'al party, MK Ayman Odeh, met today (Friday) with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and told him that he is afraid of the government that will be formed.
"The incoming Israeli government will include Itamar Ben Gabir, a follower of Kahnism, a racist political movement, which has been designated as a global terrorist organization by many international organizations, including the United States Department of State," he said.
In addition, he claimed that Gilad Erdan, Israel's ambassador to the UN, does not represent Arab society: "We will represent ourselves, we will continue to fight for the eradication of violence everywhere and at all times." The topic of the meeting between the two was Arab society's fight against crime and violence, Odeh elaborated on
this Guterres and emphasized that there is a crisis in Arab society, noting that in 2022 there were about 104 people murdered in society.

"Violence is part of the daily life of Palestinians in the West Bank, Gaza and occupied East Jerusalem and is the inevitable result of the ongoing illegitimate occupation of the Israeli government and the policy of controlling the Palestinian population," Odeh said.
"Palestinian citizens of Israel face violent crime, including shootings, murders, destruction of property and armed robbery, and this problem has now become an epidemic. In recent years, the rate of murders and violent crimes in the Palestinian Arab communities has soared," he added.
The Knesset member also said that "the government of Israel has succeeded in keeping the rate of illegal ownership of weapons and violent crimes low in the Jewish communities in the country. There is no reason why the same cannot be done in Palestinian Arab communities where Palestinian Arab citizens are the victims."
