According to reports and in-depth investigations, officers of the Sham Shui Po Police District Special Duty Team launched the code-named "LEVINGTON" and "CLEARSKY" in Sham Shui Po District today (9th) to crack down on triads in the area activities and drug trafficking activities.
During the operation, officers intercepted a suspicious-looking woman at the junction of Nam Cheong Street and Yikuk Street, and seized about 13 grams of suspected heroin and about 100 pills of suspected psychiatric drugs commonly known as "Smurfs". The market value is about 20,000 yuan.
After investigation, the 64-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of "drug trafficking".
In the past 6 months, the Sham Shui Po Police District Special Duty Team has arrested 4 men and 4 women, aged between 45 and 64, at drug black spots in the area, including recreational parks and pedestrian tunnels, through Operation Sunshine. They were suspected of "Drug possession" and "drug trafficking", and seized more than 1 kilogram of suspected heroin and more than 100 suspected psychotropic drugs. The total market value of the drugs exceeded HK$1 million.
The Sham Shui Po Police District has been cracking down on drug trafficking in the district and has adopted a zero-tolerance attitude to help citizens stay away from the scourge of drugs.
Police remind the public that drug trafficking is a serious crime. According to the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance (Chapter 134 of the Laws of Hong Kong), once convicted, the maximum penalty is life imprisonment and a fine of $5 million.
