Why does the level of French students in spelling continue to drop?

Indeed, four generations of CM2 pupils have respectively been evaluated on one and the same dictation, in 1987, 2007, 2015 and 2021. Students today make an average of 19.4 mistakes compared to only 10.4 in 1987.
