The daughter of "barefoot taxman" Peter Heller raised funds for a girl with Di George Syndrome.

That, she is sure, would have been in the spirit of her father.

Bad Heilbrunn

– In the great mourning for her father Peter, Yvonne Heller was concerned that something positive could also come from his death.

For the funeral of the Tölz taxi operator, she therefore decided not to wear flowers and instead asked for donations for a good cause.

She is very happy that 2000 euros came together.

The money is intended to enable dolphin therapy for a girl with a genetic defect.

A symbolic check handover recently took place in Bad Heilbrunn.

When I heard that Lea Marie wanted dolphin therapy, I immediately felt: That's it!

"When I heard about the desire for dolphin therapy for Lea Marie, I immediately felt: That's it!" reports Yvonne Heller.

The contact came about through Heilbrunner Lucy Reinhart.

She has a rare genetic defect.

At school she had met the girl Lea Marie from Munich, who was diagnosed with DiGeorge syndrome - also a genetic defect that in Lea Marie's case resulted in a brain malformation and muscle hypotonia, which is why she is too limp to to sit, stand or walk alone.

Peter Heller would have liked dolphin therapy for his own daughter

For the Lenggrieserin Yvonne Heller it was clear that it would have been in the spirit of her deceased father to donate for a dolphin therapy for Lea Marie.

“My dad always gave immediately without considering whether he would get money back, for example,” she says.

"He was very popular with young and old, always had an open ear and was there for everyone." In addition, Peter Heller always wished for dolphin therapy for his mentally disabled daughter Brigitte.

As reported, the native of Wackersberg died on August 24 at the age of 67.

According to his daughter, he suffered a stroke or heart attack while driving his taxi – it is not entirely clear.

In the Tölzer Land he was also known as "Barefoot Taxla".

Donations for Lea Marie are still possible

After his death, Yvonne Heller set up a donation account, which she has since closed.

However, she points out that those interested can still donate to Lea Marie.
