Twice the Portuguese national team qualified for the quarter-finals of the World Cup - and both times (1966 and 2006) they made it through the stage and advanced to the last four.
That is what she is trying to do tonight (Saturday), when she meets Qatar 2022's big surprise, Morocco, who are dreaming of becoming the first African woman to qualify for the World Cup semi-finals, as the three African women before her were knocked out in the quarter-finals.
Portugal threatened mainly through Joao Felix and Bruno Fernandez, with kicks from ranges of 16-20 meters, but unlike the celebration against Switzerland - this time they had a lot of trouble finding a path to the box when Gonzalo Ramos was not noticed at all.
Morocco defended smartly, realized that Portugal appeared without natural wingers, locked up the center and thus did its part.
On the other side, she went to transitions that relied on the athletic ability of Youssef An-Nasri and that athleticism - together with a mistake by the goalkeeper Diego Costa - produced the 0:1.
