The municipality of Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn wants to build a third well in order to secure the drinking water supply for the citizens in the long term.
Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn
– The municipal council has now given the go-ahead for a specialist company to carry out a test well for just under 50,000 euros.
According to Mayor Mindy Konwitschny (SPD), the drilling is planned for spring.
As reported, the municipal council decided a year ago to initiate the process of building a third well.
At the time, waterworks employee Alois Bachmann explained in detail to the municipal council members that another well would be needed to pump water in the long term.
Because the two old wells, despite their renovation, will only be functional for another 30 to 50 years due to the poor structural design.
The third well is intended to relieve the old systems and increase their service life.
Increase in funding requested
At the same time, it was decided to apply to the water management office to increase the flow rate from the previous 600,000 to 700,000 cubic meters.
In this way, one wants to take into account the increasing water consumption in the slowly but steadily growing municipality.
As Konwitschny said, land negotiations with the owners of potential well plots have taken place.
The corresponding application was also submitted to the Water Management Office.
The approval notice from the authorities has now been received by the town hall, so that the test drilling can now be commissioned.
