(ANSA) - NORCIA (PERUGIA), DECEMBER 10 - The construction site of the Basilica of San Benedetto in Norcia will be open to the public from Thursday 15 December.

It will be possible to enter the reconstructed "house" of the patron saint of Europe by booking, by the Monday preceding the visit, at the Digipass space, by sending an e-mail to digipass@comune.norcia.pg.it or by telephone on 0743665853.

"We had already announced this last October 30 on the occasion of the sixth anniversary of the earthquake when we were able to commemorate inside the rebuilt crypt and now it will be possible for everyone to access the building site of the Basilica of San Benedetto to be able to get excited, like we did the first time", he said the mayor Nicola Alemanno.

"Thanks to the Ministry of Culture, to the superintendent for the earthquake in Central Italy, Paolo Iannelli and to the superintendent of cultural heritage in Umbria, Giuseppe Lacava, for giving us this opportunity - he added -, that is, that of being able to overcome the barriers of the construction site, to be able to see and to be able to bring us closer to this site which, for our fellow citizens, represents a place of the heart".

Entries will take place on alternating Thursdays, in groups of up to a maximum of 15 people and will last from 12 to 12.45.

(HANDLE).
