The "New Generation New Skills" Expo organized by the Vocational Training Council (VTC) officially kicked off today (9 December) at the Wan Chai Convention and Exhibition!
The expo will be held for three consecutive days (9th to 12th) from now on. The technology application works of VTC students and graduates will be exhibited in the venue, and there will be a variety of skills experience activities and workshops, free of charge.
The first day of the expo has attracted many citizens and students to experience the application of various advanced technologies and learn various practical skills "hands-on". The atmosphere of the event is quite lively!

Promotion of various exciting activities
Artist Xu Rong visited the VTC "New Generation New Skills" Expo and tried out the immersive cave system game.
Immersive Cave System Game (META 4D Dome Robot)
This immersive cave system game was designed and developed by IVE Higher Diploma in Games and Animation graduates.
The player sits in the specially designed control dynamic seat, controls the robot through the joystick and the foot pedal, and fights against the robot with artificial intelligence in the game. During the game, both offense and defense are required to test the player's immediate reaction and strategy.
Under the guidance of the on-site staff, many players got started quickly and were able to smoothly control the robot to participate in the game.
In addition, the dynamic seat is specially designed to match the dynamic and interactive changes of the game, allowing players to explore a game virtual world that integrates visual, sound effects and 4D action experience when playing, which is more exciting and more immersive than ordinary video games.

i-Formula
In the "Smart Formula Racing" experience, participants can first enter the workshop, and with the assistance of the staff, set up the smart sports car through simple programming.
After setting up the car, participants can control the network-controlled smart sports car, race with other artificial intelligence cars, or interact with other live participants on the simulation platform.
Participants experienced the control of the remote control sports car through the Internet and competed with the artificial intelligence racing car.
"Hands-on" Workshop: Create Your Own Specialty Coffee
Nowadays, pour over coffee is very popular, and many people even go to the classroom to learn how to brew coffee.
One of the "hands-on" workshops at the scene was "Create Your Own Specialty Coffee". The workshops I saw were very popular, attracting many participants to queue up to learn how to brew their favorite coffee flavors from professional baristas, and to learn Knowledge about coffee.
After participating in the workshop, some participants said that it was their first time to learn how to brew coffee, and found it quite novel and interesting.

career database
Career planning is getting more and more attention, and VTC has many years of manpower survey experience. Its career database can help students and job seekers fully understand the entry requirements, skills and abilities, and promotion ladders of more than 500 occupations in Hong Kong and the Mainland, and help plan their future.
In the "Career Database", participants can complete the "Career Assessment" on the spot to understand their personality, ability and career orientation.
The assessment will divide the participants into different types, such as social type, they will be suggested to consider careers such as occupational therapist, social worker, travel consultant, etc.
After completing the "career assessment", the participants will get a tailor-made visiting tips card, which provides suggestions on suitable routes for visiting the expo, so remember to go to the career database to have a look before officially starting the visit !
In the "New Generation New Skills" Expo, VTC provides free career assessment tests to the public to analyze personal characteristics and abilities, especially suitable for students and working people who intend to be promoted or change careers.

Artist Xu Rong also visited the expo today and experienced the immersive rehabilitation training system and the immersive cave system game. He thought that the exhibits at the expo were novel and interesting, applying smart technology to daily life to help solve different areas in society, such as Population aging, environmental pollution and other issues.
He said that the immersive rehabilitation training system is very convenient and easy to use, and he believes that it can help more elderly people and athletes to carry out rehabilitation training.
At the same time, he praised that the immersive cave system game is very fun, and the game screen is very detailed and exciting. The specially designed dynamic seat shakes with the movement of the game characters, making people feel like they are in the game.
Star Lecture Shares New Generation Opportunities
The Expo also held a number of star lectures to discuss the latest skills development and trends in different industries, including the "Influence of Design: Modern Future" seminar held on the first morning.
Mr. Yang Runxiong, Director of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, was invited to share the seminar, kicking off a series of star lectures.
Other lectures also invited many experts, industry representatives, VTC graduates and students to share, covering different areas such as environmental protection and opportunities in the Greater Bay Area, to discuss the value and direction of vocational education.
