Member of Knesset Galit Distel Atbarian is not expected to be appointed minister - this is what Prime Minister-designate Binyamin Netanyahu informed her in a conversation with her last week.
Likud officials claimed that Netanyahu's advisers had been working against her since the election results were known, following the "balcony incident" that was first published in Vala.
In this case, Netanyahu's political spokesman, Yonatan Urich, locked Distel Atbarian on the balcony of the Ze'ev Fortress building in Tel Aviv, following an argument in harsh tones surrounding the party's campaign in the last election.
In Likud, they believed that the Knesset member was a candidate for the position of minister, due to her position in the primaries combined with the fact that there will be few women in the coalition and the future government.
After the incident last October, Distal Atabrian addressed the case, and tried to calm the spirits.
"With all due respect to the 'damsel in distress who is locked in the balcony,' there were many, many people with me inside the balcony and in the room," said Distal Atabrian to Ben Caspit.
According to her, the speaker Yonatan Urich "slammed the door, and within a second someone came to open it. It was unpleasant. There was a lot of yelling in very high octaves and things were said that silence suits."
To the question of whether she smashed a vase, Distal Atabrian answered: "I didn't smash a vase, and I don't think there is a vase there at all. I understand the fondness for the yellow gossip."
She added that the debate revolves around "nonsense that burns me and all the professionals".
She also said that she wanted to "say a good word in defense of Topaz Luke, Yonatan Urich and Ofer Golan who are doing a very good job" in view of the fact that "it is not easy to be around Netanyahu.
