A serious accident occurred on Friday afternoon in the Fürth district.
A woman died in the collision.
Another was critically injured.
Wilhermsdorf – A woman died in a serious traffic accident between Lohe and Wilhermsdorf (district of Fürth) on Friday, December 9th.
Her passenger was critically injured.
She is currently being treated in a hospital.
The road will probably remain closed for hours.
Fatal accident near Wilhermsdorf in Middle Franconia: head-on collision claims fatalities
On Friday afternoon around 1 p.m. there was a serious head-on collision on the road (ST2252) between Lohe and Wilhermsdorf.
According to the police in Central Franconia, a VW Golf and a BMW collided.
The driver of the BMW left his lane for reasons that are still unclear and collided with the VW.
The force of the impact threw the VW onto an adjacent meadow.

In the collision, the 41-year-old driver of the VW died at the scene of the accident.
Her passenger, an 18-year-old woman, suffered life-threatening injuries in the accident.
She was flown to a nearby clinic in a rescue helicopter.
But first she had to be freed from the car.
The fire brigade used heavy equipment to do this.
Fatal collision in the district of Fürth: the police are investigating the course of the accident
The driver of the BMW was also seriously injured, police said.
He was also taken to a hospital.
Because the cause of the accident was initially unclear, the traffic police in Fürth took over the investigation.
They were supported by an expert commissioned by the public prosecutor's office in Nuremberg-Fürth.
In addition to the police officers, numerous firefighters were also on site.
At the hour (4:15 p.m.) the road between the two places was completely closed and will probably remain so until the end of the rescue measures.
