Five injured in serious accident

A serious traffic accident occurred on Sunday afternoon on the route from Tutzing towards Diemendorf in the Kampberg area.

Five people were injured, some seriously.

Tutzing/Diemendorf – The rescuers from the Tutzing and Traubing fire brigades, the rescue service and the police were presented with a terrible picture at the scene of the accident: a smashed VW Golf was standing on the side of the road, a station wagon had overturned and was lying on its side in the middle of the road.

According to the police, a 21-year-old from the Weilheim area drove his VW Polo in the direction of Diemendorf and got onto the banquet on a slippery road around 2 p.m.

"The rear of the vehicle then broke out and the car slid into oncoming traffic on the right side of the vehicle," the police said.

There, the VW collided so badly with an oncoming Golf that it overturned.

The 21-year-old Polo driver and his 22-year-old passenger were trapped and had to be freed by the fire department.

The driver was taken to a hospital by the ambulance service, his companion was flown to an accident clinic with serious injuries.

Of the three occupants of the Golf with Starnberg license plates, the passenger was seriously injured and flown to a clinic by helicopter; the other two survived the devastating accident with minor injuries.

Both vehicles are total losses, and the road was closed for almost three hours for rescue and recovery work.

The fire department diverted traffic.

Regarding the possible cause of the accident, the police said: "The driver of the VW Polo had to undergo a blood test because the smell of alcohol on his breath was detected during the accident recording.

Investigations were initiated against the young man for endangering road traffic and negligent bodily harm.” mm
