The Bergwacht Schliersee reports on a ski touring accident on the Roßkopf, Manuel Neuer posts a photo from the sick bed.

It is now clear that the two are related.

Spitzingsee

– The national goalkeeper has proved several times that Manuel Neuer doesn’t just live at Tegernsee because that’s somehow part of being a celebrity.

From time to time he publishes private photos from his adopted country, whether on the SUP board or on a winter walk.

With the takeover of the Forsthaus Valepp together with his business partner Johannes Rabl, Neuer is now even active as an entrepreneur in the Miesbach district.

But on Friday, December 9th, just a few kilometers as the crow flies, he had an unpleasant and at the same time painful experience: The FC Bayern star fell on a ski tour on Spitzingsee and broke his lower leg.

The Bergwacht Schliersee informed the Miesbacher Merkur about the operation on Friday afternoon (we reported).

Press spokesman Lenz Haberle did not name the prominent accident victim.

After Neuer posted a photo from his sick bed on Instagram on Saturday and reported on the positive operation, it was assumed that there could be a connection here.

The mountain rescue service confirmed this on Sunday when asked by our newspaper.

According to Haberle, Neuer had been on a ski tour with a few Spezl.

The national goalkeeper, who had returned from Qatar only a few days after the end of the World Cup, fell around noon in the lower area of the steep southern slope of the Roßkopf, which at that time had little snow and was icy and bumpy.

The group made an emergency call, whereupon three mountain rescuers set off for the Roßkopf with the Ski-Doo.

From the summit, they then descended on foot to the scene of the accident, says Haberle.

At first, the emergency services would not have recognized because of the helmet and cap when they had to provide first aid here as a patient.

But then it became clear "that it is Mr. Neuer".

Goalkeeper flown to hospital by helicopter

Because a descent with the Akja on the icy snow would have been too dangerous and, above all, too far, a helicopter was requested to bring the injured Bayern star down into the valley.

Since the helicopter had come from the Murnau accident clinic anyway, Neuer was then flown there directly for further treatment.

Incidentally, no celebrity special treatment, as Haberle emphasizes when asked: "In such circumstances, there is no alternative to the helicopter in this area."

As Neuer reveals on Instagram, he wanted to “clear his head” on the ski tour.

However, it hurts that this has now meant that the current season is over for him.

Incidentally, Neuer was an exception for the Schliersee mountain rescue service.

Otherwise, rescuing celebrities is not part of their everyday life.

Haberle can actually only remember one case.

Many years ago they helped an injured ski star on the Rauhkopf.

However, he was not a newcomer, but grew up in the mountains around Schliersee: Markus Wasmeier.

Manuel Neuer gets well wishes from all over the world.
