The "Goodbye Germany" stars Caro and Andreas Robens live in Mallorca.
The two also spend the Christmas season in their adopted country.
But Caro doesn't have a present for her husband on Christmas Eve.
Mallorca – Anyone who tunes in to "Goodbye Germany" regularly gets to see almost all facets of the colorful life of Caro (43) and Andreas Robens (55).
In 2010, the two emigrants tied the knot on Mallorca and today run several restaurants and “Iron Gym” fitness studios on the Spanish island.
They have achieved what many participants in the iconic VOX show still dream of and have built a life for themselves in their adopted country, surrounded by a foreign language and a new culture.
"Somehow stupid": Caro Robens gives Andreas nothing for Christmas
Almost tropical temperatures of up to 16 degrees still prevail on the Balearic island in winter, but the Robens still celebrate Christmas on Mallorca.
Caro originally comes from Wuppertal and Andreas from Hanover – but the TV stars, who have been seen in the VOX format since 2015 and won “Das Sommerhaus der Stars” in 2020, do not make the long journey to their much frostier homeland.
"We don't have any family here, but of course we have our animals," says emigrant queen Caro in an interview with the
Mallorca Zeitung
, "that's why we always have a cozy day at home on Christmas Eve."
But what do famous reality stars actually get for the big party - the tried and tested classics like perfume and clothes, or something more unusual?
At least it is certain that Andreas usually goes away empty-handed at Christmas: "We say every year that we won't do it, but I actually always have something for Caro, but I don't get anything myself," reveals the bodybuilder to the Mallorca
Zeitung
.
That her husband has a surprise gift for her despite the agreement – Caro Robens doesn't seem very enthusiastic about that: "It's kind of stupid because I really never have anything for him."
Christmas: The Story of the Most Beautiful Holiday
Today almost everyone associates Christmas with presents, Christmas trees, tinsel and Santa Claus.
The history of the most contemplative of all festivals is made up of many different cultural aspects.
On the one hand, of course, the birth of Jesus Christ, which has been celebrated on December 25 for centuries and was already a celebratory event in ancient Rome.
On the other hand, Celtic and northern European customs such as the Yule festival, which focus on extravagant feasts, were also adopted.
Today's understanding of Christmas, like decorating a tree and hanging up colorful decorations, comes mainly from England and Germany.

Island feeling: "Goodbye Germany" star Caro Robens is not in the Christmas mood
Being good all year round and then not being given a small present on Christmas Eve when even the dogs and cats have plenty of sweets under the tree - Andreas Robens doesn't have it easy.
The fact that Caro doesn't give her loved one anything could be because it never gets particularly Christmassy in a summery place like Mallorca.
"It's, thank God, warmer than in Germany, and there aren't even Christmas markets, at least as we know them from Germany," she describes the festival season in the tourist Mecca to the Mallorca

Gift or no gift - it is much more important that you love each other and Caro and Andreas Robens prove that with many personal snapshots on social media.
The two also cause a stir with their unusual looks - especially the many muscles and tattoos always provide topics for discussion.
However, the two fitness enthusiasts are completely committed to their appearance: Most recently, “Goodbye Germany” star Caro Robens openly listed their many cosmetic surgeries.
