As for the 43-year-old murderer Xu Shengqi at the time of the incident, he was convicted of three counts of murder and one count of manslaughter in 2010, and was sentenced to life imprisonment according to the law. It is known that he died of illness in August this year.

The Correctional Services Department issued a press release on August 9 stating that a 55-year-old male prisoner in Stanley Prison died in a public hospital that day.

The Correctional Services Department said the inmate was jailed for murder in November 2010.

According to the information, in November 2010, two murderers in the Hong Kong murder case were convicted and imprisoned. One of them was Xu Shengqi. Based on the fact that he was 43 years old and imprisoned for 12 years, he was 55 years old. Pointing to the prisoner dovetailed.

The Correctional Services Department issued a press release on August 9 stating that a 55-year-old male prisoner in Stanley Prison died of illness in a public hospital that day.

The massacre of four dead bodies in Ping Che occurred in July 2009. At that time, Tam Shing-fai, a 44-year-old staff member of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, was absent from work for no reason. A colleague called to inquire. Unexpectedly, the man who answered the phone was a man with a local accent who claimed to be Tam Shing-fai’s cousin. He also pointed out that the Tan family had traveled to Dongguan.

Tan's colleagues felt suspicious and worried about his safety and called the police for help.

After receiving the report, the police went to Tan Chenghui's residence in Pingche and found blood stains in the house. After investigation, it was revealed that Tan Chenghui was missing. His 34-year-old wife Tang Enyi, 10-year-old eldest daughter Tan Xiaowen and 7-year-old daughter Tan Xiaoying were also missing.

The police questioned the nearby villagers and conducted in-depth investigations. They finally arrested Xu Shengqi, the 43-year-old cousin of Tan Chenghui, in a stone house near Wuzhou Road.

Back then, the case caused a sensation in the whole city, and the media reported it vigorously. From the case to the trial, it caused a lot of discussion in the society.

The police investigation found that Tan Chenghui and Xu Shengqi had a good relationship at first, and Xu often traveled to and from the Mainland and Hong Kong with a two-way permit to earn extra money for Tan's maintenance of the iron house.

Until July 5, 2009, Xu Shengqi visited Tan's house and borrowed money from Tan Chenghui to build the ancestral house, but Tan refused.

In a rage, Xu stabbed Tan's head, abdomen, back and other parts with a fruit knife, killing Tan.

After Xu became aggressive, Tang Enyi, Tan Xiaowen, and Tan Xiaoying who were in the house at that time were tied up with wires, and the three were baked or strangled to death one after another, and finally they dug a pit and buried their bodies.

Only Xu Shengqi denied the crime in court, and even claimed to have an affair with his cousin Tang Enyi, and the dispute arose when Tan discovered it.

The jury finally ruled that Xu Shengqi was guilty of murdering Tan Chenghui, Tang Enyi and Tan Xiaoying, and of manslaughtering Tan Xiaowen. He was sentenced to life imprisonment according to the law.

The judge accused Xu of having an affair with his cousin as a defense, which is absurd.
