Trouble with the "Morgenmagazin": Due to the strike, the show on Tuesday (December 13) was simply canceled.

Instead of live television, there were reruns.

Mainz – Anyone who wanted to start the day as usual with the “ZDF morning magazine” on Tuesday (December 13) looked into the tube: Instead of a current issue, ARD and ZDF ran their “Morgenmagazin” programs on a weekly basis broadcast, only repetitions.

Behind it is a strike by the employees.

Update from December 13 (12:00 p.m.):

Not only the “ZDF morning magazine” was affected by the strike, but also “Volle Kanne”.

The service magazine, which is broadcast live on ZDF from Monday to Friday from 9:05 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., could also not be shown due to the strike.

Here, too, an alternative program ran as a substitute.

"Since the strike is being carried out by some colleagues until 10.30 a.m., ZDF is broadcasting a repeat," moderator Andrea Ballschuh (50) told

You have "prepared everything for free".

The strike "surprised" her and some of her colleagues.

The warning strike is having an effect: "The next round of negotiations in the collective bargaining dispute is scheduled for December 21," according to ZDF.

In the meantime, however, the regular broadcasting process can be guaranteed again.

Apparently, ZDF was also worried about the "Today" programs from twelve o'clock.

However, the broadcaster has now informed via Twitter that the program of the news programs will be broadcast “regularly” again from noon.

No "ZDF morning magazine" on Tuesday - station affected by staff strike

First report from December 13 (8:00 a.m.):

No "MoMa" on Tuesday: As ZDF announced early in the morning via Twitter, the "ZDF morning magazine" is on strike and must therefore be canceled.

The public broadcasters, probably due to a lack of opportunities, rely on repetitions: ZDF shows the travel report "Balkan-Style: Through Europe's wild south-east", ARD shows a compilation of older "Morgenmagazin" programs.

The otherwise daily updated magazine should have been running on ZDF until 9:00 a.m.

After all: The strike should remain manageable, because on Wednesday (December 14th) the show should run normally again, as stated in a tweet by "ZDF-Morgenmagazin" moderator Dunja Hayali (48), which she already broadcast at 7 :00 shared: "The 'MoMa' is canceled today - warning strike!

We'll see each other again tomorrow."

"MoMa" - a real television institution:

The "ZDF morning magazine" has been around since 1992;

in July the 30th birthday of "MoMa" was celebrated.

With around 3.9 million television viewers every day, the show is a complete success - even in the morning hours!

The magazine, which runs from Monday to Friday, thus achieves a strong 20 percent market share.

ZDF viewers pissed off – anger erupts on Twitter because of the “Morgenmagazin” failure

The two broadcasters not only provided information about the "Morgenmagazin" failure resulting from the strike, but also directly in their programs.

There, a corresponding notice flickered repeatedly over the edge of the picture.

Apparently not everyone got that: "It took me about an hour until I checked that there was a canned food running," revealed a viewer on Twitter;

another suggested the team "collectively overslept" or "frozen."

The "Morgenmagazin" failure on ZDF also caused a stir on Twitter: there was great anger and anger, but some people also showed understanding for the strikers

Anger quickly added to the confusion: “The 'MoMa' is no longer applicable and brings two insights: 1. The information policy of ARD and ZDF has room for improvement.

2. The 'Sat.1 breakfast television' is not an alternative,” it said in one of countless tweets in which the communication between the two broadcasters was criticized as “horror”.

However, some showed understanding for the strikers: “Good journalism deserves decent pay.

Therefore, continue to strike,” said one user.

Warning strike at ZDF causes "morning magazine" failure - media union makes demands

According to information from the media union, the Association of Radio, Film and Television Producers (VRFF), the strike started at 3:00 a.m. and is expected to last until 10:30 a.m.

The three and a half hour "morning magazine" otherwise runs regularly from 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

The background to this is stated on the VRFF website: “As was the case with the ARD broadcasters recently, nothing is really moving in the wage negotiations at ZDF either.

That's why the VRFF-ZDF is also going on a warning strike there together with the DJV and verdi unions!" There has also recently been criticism for the broadcaster from other quarters: "Tagesschau" spokeswoman Dagmar Berghoff (79) criticized the fact that the ZDF news in the Miniskirt were moderated.
