Dietramszell – The Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen Computer Seniors Association has donated six laptops to the elementary and middle school in Dietramszell.
It was a cooperation between the computer seniors and the association Miteinander-füreinander social network Dietramszell.
The computer seniors are a community of older people who use their in-depth knowledge of computers to refurbish donated computers.
The devices are checked for functionality, batteries are replaced if necessary, old data is deleted and finally a new operating system is installed on the devices.
After the general overhaul, the seniors donate the devices to social organizations or the needy.
The association Miteinander-Füreinander is also committed to helping young people and the elderly in Dietramszell and the surrounding area.
Among other things, he is committed to promoting and supporting youth work.
When asked how the cooperation between the two clubs came about, Ingrid Lätsch, chairwoman of Miteinander-Füreinander, said: "Honorary chairwoman Waltraud Bauhof is the link of the whole campaign." She was instrumental in the founding of both clubs twelve years ago and therefore in close contact with the members.
“Laptops are now an important learning tool for our school children”
"Nowadays, laptops are an important learning tool for our school children, so that they can also take part in lessons from home in an emergency," explains Lätsch.
"Unfortunately, not all families have the necessary financial resources to purchase such a device for their child or children."
Lätsch goes on to explain: “During a conversation with Waltraud Bauhof, it became clear that the computer seniors had brought their devices back into shape.
She immediately thought of the Dietramszell school."
The chairwoman of bei Miteinander-füreinander called the school management Susanne Falkenhahn at the elementary and middle school in Dietramszell and asked if the school needed laptops.
The principal confirmed that the school could use laptops badly.
Laptops, notebooks and various other electronic goods that are no longer used are repeatedly given to the computer seniors.
Thanks to the seniors, such devices can then be donated again and again and in this way continue to be used sustainably.
