The Christmas edition of “Kitchen Impossible” was coming up.

But with maltster competitor Tim Raue, there was a festive mood at first: a traditional pastry became an insurmountable hurdle.

Mattinata – On Sunday evening (December 11th), the Christmas special from "Kitchen Impossible" was supposed to create a Christmas atmosphere in advance, but Tim Raue (48), who with cooking buddy Max Strohe (40) against Tim Mälzer (51) and Lucki Maurer (42) took part, was at times not at all in the mood to celebrate.

"Kitchen Impossible" lives up to its name - Tim Raue bites his teeth out of Panettone

Tim Raue and Max Strohe's "Kitchen Impossible" team was asked to cook a traditional Italian Christmas menu consisting of three courses.

One dish in particular caused frustration: Panettone, a sweet, cake-like pastry from the Milan area, which is traditionally made from wheat sourdough and contains candied fruit or raisins - a real classic!

Star chef Tim Raue is someone "who actually accepts all challenges," said the 48-year-old on "Kitchen Impossible".

In Mattinata, Apulia, Tim Raue and Max Strohe were able to try the delicacy and were blown away - but only by the taste: "You just noticed that there is incredible craftsmanship, love and experience in it," enthused the 48-year-old star chef "Masterpiece" that probably brought him to the limit of his creativity:

"I'm someone who actually accepts all challenges.

But you also have to know when enough is enough”, was his conclusion – he threw down for the very first time!

Knew?

"Kitchen Impossible" chef Tim Mälzer once worked with megastar Jamie Oliver!

Before Tim Mälzer became famous nationwide, the trained chef went to London, among other places, where he not only worked in the Nobel Hotel Ritz, but also in the Neal Street Restaurant of kitchen legend Gennaro Contaldo (73).

Jamie Oliver (47) was also cooking there at the same time, but he was still completely unknown at the time and only began his TV career at the end of the 1990s.

Despite Tim Raue losing a point – star chef defeats Tim Mälzer in “Kitchen Impossible”

Instead of trying their hand at panettone, Raue and Strohe simply asked them to show them the recipe.

For the "Kitchen Impossible" challenge, this meant: One course was skipped, so a third of the points classification was gone.

For Tim Mälzer it was the chance to break his special curse: the Hamburger by choice had never won the Christmas edition of the Vox show.

And this time he was not granted the big hit: Despite the point deduction, thanks to tasty pasta and lovingly prepared fish, Raue and Strohe prevailed with 6.6 points against Mälzers and Maurers 4.1 points.

While the cooking competition on Vox ended reflectively at the end, it was not at all peaceful on the sister channel RTL: During the “People, Pictures, Emotions” annual review, Thomas Gottschalk (72) insulted Sarah Connor (42), who was ill failed - and fired back!
