Fire was set in two bank branches on Tölzer Marktstrasse on Tuesday night.
The police arrested a suspect shortly afterwards.
Bad Tölz
– The Tölz fire brigade had to deal with two consecutive operations, both in Marktstraße, on Tuesday night.
As the fire brigade reports on their Facebook page, the fire alarm system in a commercial building was initially triggered at around 12:35 a.m.
"The reason for the alarm was smoke from a small fire," it says.
100,000 euros damage to ATMs and interior
The fire may have been small, but the damage it caused is immense.
According to the police, there was a fire in the anteroom of a bank branch.
The fire brigade quickly got the flames under control with the help of a small extinguisher, smoked out the anteroom with an electric fan and examined it for embers with the thermal imaging camera.
What remained of the fire was damage to two ATMs and the interior, which the police estimate at around 100,000 euros.
While the emergency services were still busy on site, the police drew their attention to another small fire in a neighboring commercial building.
That was around 1:15 a.m., police said.
"The interior of a bank was set on fire here," says the press report of the Presidium Oberbayern Süd.
The extent of the property damage caused here was not yet known on Tuesday afternoon.
The police assume that the damage is in the high five-digit euro range.

And she found it.
"Ultimately, a suspect 56-year-old Bad Tölzer could be arrested," said the police.
