The municipality of Kirchseeon is taking action against speeders on the B 304: They want to have a stationary speed camera installed on Spannleitenberg.
Kirchseeon/district -
It's hard to believe: A speeder was measured at 145 km/h on Spannleitenberg in Kirchseeon - mind you, in town at the permitted speed of 50. There is a kindergarten there and the school is very close by.
A stationary speed camera is now being installed in urban areas as part of municipal traffic monitoring.
More than every tenth driver is too fast
A hidden traffic census, including speed measurement, had shown that more than one in ten drivers was driving too fast on the B 304 on the eastern outskirts.
A period of 14 days between October 18th and November 3rd was evaluated.
224,780 vehicles passed the measuring point during this period.
25 554 potential violations were identified.
That is a complaint rate of around 11.4 percent.
The result is roughly congruent with the experience from the mobile measurements at this point, according to the town hall.
Flashes go in both directions
The stationary speed camera with a visible pillar is to be set up at the roadside in a green strip at the level of the Gartenweg entrance, about 140 meters from the place-name sign.
Flashes can be used in both directions of the street.
According to the town hall, the proposed location should meet the legal framework.
However, the technical supervisory authority can still be heard, to obtain the consent of the landowner, the Rosenheim State Building Authority, and then to notify the government of Upper Bavaria of the project.

The market in Kirchseeon would have to erect the column.
The gross costs are estimated at around 45,000 euros, including civil engineering, commissioning and lightning.
The municipal traffic control would take care of the equipment with the necessary technology, the evaluation and the fine procedures.
Cost per monitoring day: 250 euros.
Case flat rate: four euros.
The market receives the warning money received.

The speed camera is to be set up in the course of the coming year.
It is not yet clear how often it will be switched on.
But its presence alone should have a deterrent effect on speeders.
