In Moosburg, the Huber house next to the town hall is currently being demolished to create more space for the city administration.

Details have now been announced.

Moosburg

- The demolition work on the old Huber house in Moosburg's Herrnstraße is already in full swing.

On Monday, the city council asked architect Bernhard Paringer to explain what further plans for the extension of the town hall look like.

Overall, the usable area is to be expanded by a good 350 square meters.

Almost three fifths of it in the form of administration rooms, the rest is intended for the barrier-free development of the entire building with stairs and elevator.

The estimated cost of the project is around 2.34 million euros.

However, the architect from Landshut emphasized that it is difficult to make a valid statement on this due to the current dynamics in the construction sector.

The new wing of the building will be a two-story house with an attic.

Access to the town hall continues via the usual entrance area, which is to be made barrier-free.

The connection to the new building is via a corridor, which currently still leads to the left to the registry office.

The entire area there will be restructured so that the existing corridor will be removed and made more spacious and wider to create a waiting area with access to the registration and registry office and to set up a wheelchair-accessible toilet.

Architect reports a special challenge

This corridor area leads to the new extension, where, in addition to an office, the lift, the staircase and an escape route to Herrnstrasse are planned.

The elevator takes visitors to all other levels, both in the town hall and in the new building wing, which according to Bernhard Paringer represented a particular challenge in the existing complex due to the ground floor height of 4.50 metres.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Administration areas, each with three window axes, will be created on the first and second floors of the extension.

On the top floor there are two plain tiled dormer windows facing the street.

In addition to a staff room that can be used variably, two further toilets and a server and technical room will also be accommodated there.

The new building will not have a basement, even if the existing building still had a vault.

This is also the reason why the demolition work on the floor slab will be carried out with archaeological support from January 2023.

According to the architect, it is not yet clear how long this work will take.

The plan is to fill up the vault for the foundation of the new building and then to create a stable subsoil by installing 36 micro bored piles.

From the start of this work, Bernhard Paringer estimates a construction time of two years due to the complexity with temporary relocations and work during ongoing operations.

With regard to the design of the extension facade, discussions are already being held with the district master builder because of monument protection.
