The leader of the CDU parliamentary group in the state parliament, Jan Redmann, has commented positively on searches of climate activists of the "last generation".

He thinks it's good that the state is investigating and clarifying the structures that exist in the background, he said in Potsdam on Tuesday.

Investigators searched the rooms of climate activists from the group “Last Generation” nationwide.

Potsdam – The Neuruppin public prosecutor's office is in charge, as it is about actions against the PCK refinery in Schwedt.

The CDU politician Redmann said he had the impression that the movement was developing more and more into a criminal organization because it was obviously planning to commit crimes systematically.

The organization increasingly included people from the left-wing radical milieu who had previously attracted the attention of the police.

So far, they have tried to attack state structures, said Redmann.

Green parliamentary group leader Benjamin Raschke said criminal offenses must be prosecuted and punished, especially when it comes to critical infrastructure.

Nevertheless, the actions of the climate activists could not be compared with the dangers that emanated from "Reich citizens".

“Climate stickers are not terrorists”

Investigators searched eleven objects throughout Germany during the action against the "Last Generation" on Tuesday, as prosecutor Cyrill Klement said in Neuruppin, Brandenburg.

"A little more than eleven people" are being investigated for disrupting public services.

However, the suspicion of the formation of a criminal organization is also being examined.

According to the public prosecutor, the background to this is attacks by climate activists on the PCK Schwedt refinery since April.

Among other things, the oil supply was interrupted.

In some cases it was just an attempt.
