Russian President Vladimir Putin affirmed that his country will not allow anyone to defame and slander its heroes, and will face media disinformation with the truth.
“We will not allow anyone to slander and slander our heroes, and our main weapon against disinformation and lies will remain solid knowledge, truth and love for Russia,” Putin was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti news agency in a video message at the awards ceremony for the winners of the Knowledge Prize.
Putin stressed that knowledge, truth and love for Russia constitute the main means of combating lies and disinformation directed against the country's history.
