The city council is scheduled to decide on further improvements for cycling on Wednesday (December 14).
Parking spaces on Nymphenburger Straße could therefore also be omitted.
Munich - The expansion of cycling in Munich is progressing.
The city council is due to approve the fifth set of measures to expand the infrastructure on Wednesday.
New cycle paths could therefore be created, among other things, on Nymphenburger Straße, west of Landshuter Allee to Stiglmaierplatz - at the expense of parking spaces.
The detailed planning will show how many of the almost 400 parking spaces will be eliminated.
Bicycle traffic in Munich: Bicycle routes could also be created on Candidstrasse
Further bicycle routes are planned on Baubergerstrasse, between Georg-Moos-eder-Strasse and Skagerrakstrasse, and on Bergsonstrasse, between An der Langwieder Haide and Rupert-Bodner-Strasse.
There is also a desire for wider cycle paths for Candidstrasse between Gerhardstrasse and Candidplatz.
The fifth package of measures also provides for better cycle paths on Kirchseeoner Strasse between Rosenheimer Strasse and Innsbrucker Ring, and on the Max-Joseph Bridge between Widenmayerstrasse/Ifflandstrasse and Mauerkircherstrasse.
Wider cycle paths could also be created along Schäftlarnstrasse between Brudermühlstrasse and Thalkirchner Platz.
The same applies to Schlierseestrasse between Werinherstrasse and Schwanseestrasse.
And also for the Schwanseestraße itself - between Schlierseestraße and Ständlerstraße improvements for bicycle traffic are to be initiated.
Cycling in Munich: Another project is to be connected with cycle paths on Situlistrasse
With new cycle paths on Situlistraße between Floriansmühlstraße and Frankfurter Ring, the city would connect the Ungererstraße section in the south, which is already being planned, with Freisinger Landstraße in the north.
Further cycle paths are planned on St.-Veit-Strasse between Kreillerstrasse and Heinrich-Wieland-Strasse, Truderinger Strasse between Schmuckerweg and Wasserburger Landstrasse and on Wolfratshauser Strasse between Boschetsrieder Strasse and Schmiedberg.
The situation for cyclists is also to be improved at Theodolindenplatz.
According to the administration, right-turn lanes pose a high risk for cyclists. Recommendation: dismantling.
