New details about the stabbing incident at the Rehovot school:
the suspects who attacked the boy today (Tuesday) stabbed him inside the principal's room, who was not there at the time of the incident.
The boy was taken to the Kaplan Medical Center in serious condition, and he was sedated and ventilated.
Handaker, 16 years old, left around 11:00 from the school gate, where the suspects ambushed him.
In response, he fled into the school grounds, and the suspects chased him.
The boy ran to the manager's room, who was not in the room, and there he was stabbed.
The police said that upon receiving the report of the stabbing, Rehovot police officers began searching for the fleeing suspects.
After a short time, the police announced that they had managed to arrest four suspects - three minors and an 18-year-old adult on suspicion of involvement in the act.
"From a preliminary investigation it emerged that the suspects in the act are not students at the school," said the police.
Also, the police said that an initial investigation revealed that the background to the incident was criminal.
The student, who was stabbed in front of his friends and teacher, was at odds with the stabbers.
The officers also took footage from the security cameras to find out how the attackers entered the school.
The main suspicion is that they apparently jumped over the school fence.

After the incident, the commander of the Central Police District, Superintendent Avi Biton, also arrived at the school, where he made a situation assessment.
The police stated that "the district commander met with the school director, while emphasizing to him that the incident will be handled seriously with the allocation of all the district's resources to this investigation."
