The Council of Ministers approved, during its weekly session today, chaired by Eng. Hussein Arnous, to grant state workers and retirees a loan from public banks in the amount of 400,000 Syrian pounds without interest, and to be paid within a year, provided that the public treasury bears the entire financial burden of the loan.

The Council discussed the efforts made to provide the required quantities of oil derivatives, where Eng. Arnous stressed the importance of intensifying efforts and continuous follow-up to overcome the current reality of hydrocarbons, and continuing to secure the requirements of the basic sectors, especially bakeries, hospitals, transportation, agriculture, and others, in parallel with controlling markets and monopolists for commodities and basic materials.

The Prime Minister pointed out the need to make maximum use of the railway transport capacity in transporting passengers and goods, and to cooperate with the federations of chambers of industry and agriculture in exporting local production surpluses, and asked the concerned authorities to invest all experiences and capabilities to put the groups that are being worked on at the Aleppo and Rastan stations in Lattakia in The service is according to the specified schedule, and in a way that contributes to improving the electrical situation.

The Council of Ministers discussed the draft legislative instrument to amend Legislative Decree No. 11 of 2012 regarding the State Appreciation and Encouragement Awards in the fields of literature and arts, so that the value of the State Appreciation Award becomes 6 million pounds, and the State Encouragement Award 3 million pounds.

The Council of Ministers studied the draft legislative instrument for health insurance for non-Syrians entering the country, which aims to improve the status of national medical facilities, enhance the quality of medical services provided, and preserve medical personnel by improving their income. The project comes within the framework of dealing reciprocally with other countries.

The council approved the national strategy for digital accessibility, which includes communications and media services to enable people with disabilities to access the network, ensure their access to government websites and services and their applications on mobile phones, and focus on university and pre-university education services, banking services, electronic payment, and capacity building in the field of digital accessibility. This is based on Syria’s keenness to implement its obligations under the “Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities” signed in 2009.

The Council of Ministers also approved the request of the Ministry of Agriculture to amend the reclamation plan for the year 2022 by adding the Umm Al-Tuyour site with an area of ​​250 hectares and 25 km to construct service roads within the site in Lattakia Governorate, and to complete the implementation of the project of cladding the emergency complex attached to Al-Mowasat University Hospital, which is the largest of its kind in the region. Middle East, to be put into service at the end of next year, in addition to completing the implementation of the rehabilitation of the building of the Ministry of Water Resources in Harasta, in the countryside of Damascus.
