Two Narcotics Squad officers suspected of replacing seized cocaine with plaster

Scandal among narcotics?

Two police officers belonging to the narcotics brigade were placed in police custody on Monday December 12 within the premises of the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN), because they were suspected of having misappropriated drug seals following a judicial operation,

on Tuesday December 13, confirming information from our colleagues at RTL.

The two agents, one of whom would be an officer, are suspected of having replaced seized cocaine with plaster.

They were questioned as part of a judicial investigation opened in August 2021, on counts of "

misappropriation of seals, possession, offer or transfer of narcotics, association of criminals as well as forgery and use of forgery in public writing

", tells us a judicial source.

Resounding scandal in 2014

According to RTL, the police scheme was discovered by a judge, who had requested an expertise on cocaine placed under seal.

It eventually turned out that the drugs had been replaced with plaster.

The quantity of cocaine diverted has not yet been communicated.

IGPN investigators are trying to determine if the police are involved in the resale of this extremely addictive narcotic.

The famous Parisian brigade had been shaken by a resounding scandal in 2014 with the theft of nearly 50 kilos of cocaine in its seals.

Its author, former police officer Jonathan Guyot, was sentenced in 2017 to 10 years in prison, the maximum sentence.

If he has always denied his involvement, he has however not appealed, and the goods, estimated at 2 million euros, have never been found.
