HEARING REPORT - Long and confusing, the prosecution asked for less severe sentences in the appeal trial.

Three years suspended prison sentence and five years of deprivation of his civic rights for Nicolas Sarkozy, same thing for the magistrate Azibert, and three years of suspended prison sentence as well as five years of professional prohibition for Herzog, the lawyer of the former head of state, known in this matter by the code name "Bismuth".

These are the sentences requested on Tuesday by the public prosecutor in the appeal trial of the "wiretapping case".

At first instance, the former President of the Republic had been sentenced to three years in prison, one of which was firm.

A little earlier, Advocate General Yves Micolet insisted: “

It is rare for wiretaps to be so clear that they are sufficient in themselves to characterize criminal offenses.

The investigators had no doubt about the content of the transcribed remarks

.

According to him, "

Gilbert Azibert was asked to solicit advisers from the Court of Cassation

" so that they render a judgment favorable to Nicolas Sarkozy, author of an appeal in the Bettencourt case.
